TEACHER & EXECUTIVE FUNCTION COACH
Mary Fulton, Reading Teacher and Executive Function Coach, is a graduate of Hope College in Holland, MI and obtained her Master’s degree in Psychology from Springfield College in Springfield, MA. She would later acquire her Teaching degree from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT.
Mary’s early career was focused around teaching Language Arts and Social Studies at West Hartford, CT public schools. She later moved into adult reading education, working for the Read to Succeed program. It was her work at Read to Succeed that sparked her passion for working with students who have difficulty learning to read.
Mary went on to work at The Connecticut Center for ADHD where she collaborated with Developmental Pediatricians, Nurse Practitioners and teachers in evaluating and creating care plans for patients with ADHD and executive function deficits. It is here at the intersection of reading instruction and attention disorders that she truly found her calling.
With experience in multi-sensory reading instruction programs (Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood Bell LIPS, and Wilson Reading) that are recognized by the National Institute of Health National Reading Panel as evidence-based approaches to reading instruction, Mary is an integral part of the ADHD Warriors of Connecticut.
In her spare time Mary enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, running, music, and most of all spending time with her family.
